Tennis:- retirement during the match?
Hey Guys! This might be a stupid question, but I'd appreciate if you'd answer it seriously. Let's say it's a best of 5 sets match between player A and player B, in a Grand Slam. Player A is two sets up and break up in a third. It looks like there's no way player B is gonna come back to win. But suddenly player A has to retire due to a serious injury. does player B still go through to the next round?

Yes - last man standing! Regardless of the situation at the point of retirement, if you retire, for whatever reason, you are deemed to have been beaten by the other player.
