How do I get through my last two semesters of my part-time MS?
Hey Guys! Hope you all are doing well! So, to provide some context, I started my part-time MS (online) in Fall 2019. I was looking to get more experience in a field that really interests me. I got a full-time job at the end of 2019, so a few months after I got admitted into the MS program. In the beginning, it was great working and studying alongside because I get to work in my field of interest and also learn about it academically. The fees are not too excessive because my company provides partial re-imbursement (and a great salary + benefits :) ). I've been doing really well in both areas so far, even during COVID-19 time when I had some family issues going on.
However, since the last month, I've been so demotivated towards my MS that I don't know if I can see it through. Also, the courses that I'm taking now (interesting as they may be) have nothing much to do with the work I do in my full-time job and what I will likely do in the future. The courses which did offer something to my job - I already took 'em. So there is this sense of "well, what's the point?". And I am so sick of reading research papers and having discussions about them in detail that I'm exhausted even before I start reading a new one.
I've tried to establish a routine but it always gets interrupted by something and hence I can't stick to it. Please provide me some help on how I can see this MS through - if everything goes well, I can present my capstone in August and graduate. Thanks!
2 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment1 month agoI had a fight with my friend, and I don t wish to speak to him again!?
Hey Guys!
I m a college student in my senior year. So, I was hanging out w/ 2 of my buddies guy A and guy B, drinking in their apartment. We were having fun sharing our stories you know, the usual. Then, all of a sudden, guy B says that he wants go to the bars. I wasn t very keen on it but guy A, who I am much closer too, said that it s okay we ll come back in an hour. So I agreed!
So we re walking towards the bar, and I live in an area where it had snowed the night before. And guy B starts shoving snow in our faces, throwing us around in the snow, which was quite thick. He got violent! So guy A and I got quite annoyed, and said if you re gonna keep doing this, we ain t going! So after an argument he went his way and guy A and I decided we ll go by ourselves. Then we started feeling sorry for him, thinking that we overreacted, and tried to call him. He didn t pick up, so we decided to go back!
Guy A and I started talking about how it was awful what happened. Anyways, we have a few more drinks and went back to sleep. 2 hours later, guy B comes home drunk and drags us out of bed saying we need to talk. I thought he was gonna apologize, but instead he started talking **** and claimed that we were ******* for overreacting!
I went back to bed! The next morning I left and I told guy A that I don t wanna hang out w/ them anymore. I still consider guy A a good friend and none of it is his fault! However, guy B lives with him, and I don t wanna see his face!!! Did I overreact?
3 AnswersSingles & Dating2 years agoHey Guys! Online dating problem - please help!?
So, I met this girl on twitter a month back! She messaged me saying that she liked my profile, my tweets, etc. We've had a fun conversation so far, and she sent me some pictures too. So, I really felt she was real... until this morning. She said she wants to me get her an iTunes gift card to help with her mobile data, because she's having trouble paying her phone bills.
So I didn't dismiss it right away, but I told her in the nicest way possible that an iTunes gift card doesn't help with wifi or mobile data. But she's saying, "Please just get me one!". Am I being punked here? Please let me know!
Thanks!
1 AnswerSingles & Dating3 years agoHaving a REALLY BAD college semester. Please help!?
Hey Guys! So I'm a college freshman, in my second semester. I'm registered for 17 credits with 4 subjects including Chem, Physics, Math and Econ. I'm a Chem. Major. This semester is really testing my patience! I started off with C in Math and Chem, D in Physics (OMG!) and B in Econ.
Now, two mid-terms through, I have a B in Chem, B in Econ, and C is Math and Physics. With only one mid-term left, I don't know what to do! My GPA is at an all-time low, much lowed than my previous semester. I'm just tired of trying and still not being able to get very far.
If there's anything u guys could suggest, it'll be really helpful. Thanks!
3 AnswersHigher Education (University +)5 years agoTennis:- retirement during the match?
Hey Guys! This might be a stupid question, but I'd appreciate if you'd answer it seriously. Let's say it's a best of 5 sets match between player A and player B, in a Grand Slam. Player A is two sets up and break up in a third. It looks like there's no way player B is gonna come back to win. But suddenly player A has to retire due to a serious injury. does player B still go through to the next round?
3 AnswersTennis5 years agoI failed my Chemistry Test and don t know how to break it to my parents. What should I do?
So I had this pretty important Chemistry Test that I failed. It was part of the IB Mock Exams. I ve applied to universities for a major in Chemistry and gotten offers. My IB Final Exams are in 2 months, and after having failed this test, I ve almost lost all my confidence. I m afraid that I would fail the finals as well
However, what bothers me more is how I should break this news to my parents. I applied to universities in USA, and if you re American, you would probably know how expensive the universities are. My parents promised to send me to an American university, provided I get good grades in my favourite subjects.
I m afraid that my parents would be extremely angry and disappointed to hear that I m not doing well in my major subject. Failure is not tolerated in my family and I m afraid they would decide not to send me to USA.
I don t know what to do. Please help...
