Why am I not allowed to take tests home from school?

last week I took my math tests home to study for my midterm, and my teacher noticed that they weren't in my folder. She got extremely pissed off and told the principle, vice principle and my parents on me... I just cant understand what the crime is; we're allowed to review our tests in class.

The teachers may use the same test every year. So if a student takes one home, the test might get shared with next year's students, and everyone would get 100%. They don't care if you see the tests in class, but they don't want copies floating around out of their control.

Some teachers are notoriously lazy. Once they get a test established, they don't want to have to re-write it for future classes. They don't want you taking the tests home because they don't want other students to get hold of the questions and answers.
