Short story helppp!?

I believe I will have another drink. You can make it the cheap stuff. My senses are so dulled, I cannot really tell the difference.

I told you about Martha, didn't I. I had plans. I fancied we would become closer in time. That one day, some day, something would come of Martha and me. I told you that, certainly.

Well the plans are no more. Perhaps Martha is no more by now.

It was Tuesday. Last Tuesday. As bright and clear a winter's day as we ever have or ever have had. The sky was blue, as blue as her eyes as went around to her place. She ask for my help with something, asked me to come early. I never did discover what I wanted to do.

The pavement at her house had not been shoveled, and the snow had turned gritty and gray, and I had the thought that perhaps ...
