Suzuki 1200s bandit windshield for touring?

The stock 13 inch windshield is way too short but Rifle offers a 22 inch tall version, will that be tall enough to kick the wind over a 6 foot riders head sitting upright ?

Having had a bandit, full faired version up till the middle of last year I have experience of after market higher screens. I tried an MRA screen with the top flip up aerofoil and that was not as good as the Powerbronze higher screen. The screens are not strong enough to be able to fit the add on MRA spoiler.

We used the Bandit to tour Scotland and France but I was never totally happy with the wind protection on long trips and not just in terms of the height but width as well. I could not find anything big enough to do the job. I am 6ft 1 in.

Personally I do not think you will find anything to do a full job though a higher one is better an gives the option to get down behind the screen for a while for a rest from the blast. I enjoyed the Bandit for 2 years and 14000 miles but now I know why people rave about the Pan and why it is still on sale after 14 years with only minor changes.

Traded it in last year for a brand new Pan European and now with the screen at nearly full height and having fitted the Honda side deflectors I can now cruise at up to 80mph with no buffeting and could even open my visor. Over 80 it does start to weave a little so I take the electrically adjustable screen down a little to get stability. Still got my GSX1400, owned from new for 10 years today actually, for when I am out alone and no luggage needed

Think about this for a few minutes.

Increasing the shield by nearly 100% will deflect more wind away from the rider.

On the down-side it will also effect steering,

Personally I like a little wind in my face but do have a mid- sized fly-screen that does push some of it out of the way.

    Think a bigger wind-shield isn't a bad idea but back it off a little to a dull-roar.
