When you get reported, you receive an email. That tells you what the answer was that was reported. As to WHY it was reported, that is left up to you to figure out. If you post both the question that was asked AND your answer to it, here on this part of the site, some of the users here might be able to tell you what went wrong.
Be aware that any answer given must make a sincere effort to actually provide a useful answer to the question being asked. So an answer like: "I am unsure why an employer would even announce or use a preliminary W2, I would not file with it if I were you." might be seen as a non-answer by some users.
As to running out of days to appeal - if you honestly feel that your answer was not a violation, appeal anyway. The worst that can happen is that you get denied, and you may well win. At Level 6 and your amount of points, it's well worth the 10-point gamble.

In the VN you were sent, it will show what answer of yours was flagged and clicking the link to appeal will show for which question.
