What do you think of this years NHL all-star game. 3 on 3?

It will be the most boring All Star game ever. The 3 on 3 is bad enough. Players will be pacing themselves for the entire period. In a normal 3 on 3 during regular play the FIVE minute period uses an average in excess of eleven skaters per team, this game will have a twenty minute period with only nine skaters available. (one of them will be John Scott).

With the prize money going the winner only the teams will play not to lose rather than to win. So rather than a 17-16 game it will be a 3-2 or 2-1 game, with very little sustained offence.

I watch a lot of hockey, but I don't bother with the all-star game much. I want to say I wont bother, but I just might tune in a bit to see it is the freak show I expect it is.

I don't think they really thought this through. First problem - I believe they have full rosters going and full defense. But all of a sudden, they need 40% fewer people on the ice. So you have like 6 or 7 lines? You aren't going to see much of many of those all-stars. Like after the game you may be saying why did they send any defense at all?

I think it will be a better all star game than expected. I am not a fan of the fantasy draft pick all star game. I think it should be east vs west. I even liked when it was North America VS the World. But, I think the players will be too tired by the end of the 10 minutes. They will need a bigger list of players to make this work properly.

Stink, I'm not watching it. The NHL all star game has been a joke for thirty years.
