I just want to have an idea what on what it means and what are the list of things that may get you black listed?

It means that the country's government will not issue you a visa or allow you to come into the country.
The reasons for this differ from country to country. Sometimes it's because you're a known criminal. Sometimes it's because the government suspects that you might be coming in to the country to help anti-government dissidents.

It usually means that you are on the list of "undesirables" and will not be given a visa or will be prohibited from entering the country when you present your passport at the border.
Some of the reasons are: espionage, criminal activity, and previous deportation.
