Can we use car vaccum cleaners as normal vaccum cleaners, at least for book shelves, window panes et al?

    ONly if they work on 120 volt. Most car vacs work by plugging into the 12 volt or 6 volt battery DC systems. Since you are not likely to have that voltage in your house, you would not be able to run the vacs indoors.

    Yes you can , I have used my car vacuum indoors for various jobs.
