is world war 3 near? and if so what will happen?

    World Wars are horrific, and I wish we were smarter as human beings to avoid a WW3, based upon lessons learned from previous wars. But I do not think that WW3 is guaranteed to be a zero-percent chance of happening. I do not think that it is near (i.e. in the next year or so). If and when it happens, there will be millions and millions of casualties, horrendous suffering for those that survive, and if nuclear weapons are used, the damage will be with the survivors for a long time.
