In the US all region free blue ray players will be advertised that way...also you have read the fine print carefully as some Region free Blue ray players are only region free Blu ray not DVD or they may be region free DVD but not Blu ray....of course on that if both DVD and Blu ray are region free its going to cost more....Some times their are hacks that can make a player region free or else change the region but these hacks can also void the warranty and also may totally or semi disable your player....sometimes what happens is they will play region B but not region A any more or else the pause feature is permanently disabled or subtitles no longer work,,,this is why these hacks are unauthorized and void the warranty because sometimes they can cause other problems to occur... Take a look at the Samsung BD F5700E from a reputable dealer....also sometimes some of those players are shipped from over seas and do not have a US warranty....

Keep in mind that there are only a few Blu ray disc player that are universal. The OPPOIntosh are the only one that I know of. The OPPO sells for around $500 and the McIntosh for $5,000. I have 3 OPPO layers, but have not used the universal disc on it. I just don't have buy any from outside of the US market.

Get a cheap 'no brand' one (yeah I know, actually 'never heard of this' brand) because the BIG NAME brand players all have strong region protection; the cheap ones are made in bulk for 'all markets' which means you can usually find a method to change - sometimes even disbale - the region setting in it.

I have a Hiteker, took me under a minute to change its region (hooray, imported Japanese anime!).
