What is better, a Honda Civic Hybrid or just an ordinary Civic?

I find that hybrids usually need a battery pack every 8 to 10 years (expensive). I see several locally on Craigslist and nobody wants to buy them used because of the expense of parts and labor for upkeep. Stick with the regular Civic (I drive a 2003; great car!)

Better for what? The pros and cons of each should be obvious, but here goes:
Hybrid:
Pro - Better fuel economy
Con - Costs more up front (but probably not by much)
Ordinary:
Pro - Probably a bit cheaper to buy
Con - Worse fuel economy than the hybrid, but still not bad.
I'm sure that the features available are basically identical.

As the price of fuel is low at the present time it makes no sense to spend the extra money to get the Hybrid. You will never recoup the extra money in gas savings. Just get the Gasoline powered Civic.

search web for both models mpg ratings , now compare the cost of maintenance for both, buy which ever fits your desire.
Me I;d go with regular model, Its a lot cheaper to maintain or repair, not to meantion offseting cost vs cost of fuel, now fuel its cheap but even if it goes high, it will take time and maybe impossible to offset cost vs fuel $ savings.
I would not trust a Hybrid to just anyone for repairs. the risk of them messing up with the elctrical system is not worth the $ saved vs You paying for what ever might be damaged by a shady or under the tree mechanic.

"Better" is subjective. There are no single right nor wrong answers, just differing opinions.
