Are there any fans of La Dispute around here? If so, here are some questions for you...?

1. What's your favorite La Dispute album?

2. What are your Top 5 favorite La Dispute songs?

3. Have you ever seen La Dispute live?

4. Are La Dispute among your favorite acts of the 21st century?

Here are my answers...

1. "Somewhere at the Bottom..." tied with "Wildlife" (really can't choose between those two)

2. "Andria", "A Departure", "You and I in Unison", "Damaged Goods", "Hudsonville, MI 1956"

3. Nope, but I really want to.

4. Definitely somewhere in my Top 3.

    Waddup, Ryan?

La Dispute are definitely one of the most interesting bands not only in modern post-hardcore, but also in the whole of music. Mixing post-rock, indie rock, spoken word, and experimental hardcore, they certainly have a sound completely their own. Love the band, shame Imissed them live last time they passed through. Friends pulled out, and they were playing with Title Fight and The Hotelier too. Ah well.

There was a time in my life when La Dispute and Title Fight really, really spoke to me. Probably the best experiences I've ever had with music were walking around an outside an empty middle school while my brother was out playing soccer (can't pay attention to sports for more than 5 seconds) contemplating life and death and letting their powerful lyrics seep through me. At the time, death was constantly on my mind. The thought of human mortality was terrifying. Those bands kinda helped me get over it. Life is what it is, and I'm fine with that.

    1. Wildlife is in my top 10, so Wildlife. Love Somewhere... too.

    2. Ooh tough. (In no order then)

-Said the River to the King

    -Bury Your Flame

    -King Park

    -Harder Harmonies

    -The Most Beautfiul Bitter Fruit

    3. Like I said, missed them. Would try to see them again though, as their shows are apparently amazing.

    4. Definitely.

BQ: What's your favorite aspect of life (other than music of course).
