Who's batting you would prefer to watch "Brian Lara" or "Sachin Tendulkar"?

I think Sachin was more aesthetically pleasing, he was far more technically sound. He was so text book on either side of the wicket, front and back foot, simply wonderful to watch. I think his record mirrors his technical ability, he was successful everywhere, in any condition, with no weakness.
Similar to Kallis, who together are the most technically sound, statistically brilliant & quite simply best batsmen of recent generations.
But that's their downfall, and why players such as Lara will usually be more highly thought of in questions like this. A Lara century is filled with flair, only he could produce an innings like that. Tickets are sold because of the manner he'd make these runs.
Sachin, like Kallis, didn't play innings that were unexplainable, their brilliance is the ability to score consistently over long careers. Their runs I think on a whole are more valuable given the sheer number of them, but aren't as one of a kind as Lara.
As a purist, Sachin edges it for me.

I could watch either batsman play all day.
Which of the two was better is a harder call. Ponting compared them in his book (don't waste your $19.95, it's a shite read) and said that he'd give the nod to Tendulkar. "For all of Lara's explosiveness, you always thought you could get him with the right ball. With Tendulkar, there were days when you thought you'd never get him out". Guess that Punter probably knows what he's talking about, so I'll run with Tendulkar.

Tendulkar gains a lot of support than Lara because he's idolized in a World more than a billions of people, he was compared to Sir Donald Bradman by the man himself, and is on the verge of scoring a hundred international centuries, a remarkable feat of skill and longevity.
That's why Sachin is always my hero.

Both were awesome but if I want someone to occupy the crease then it's Tendulkar. If it's a big run chase then I am looking towards Lara.
