Is it possible that we are simply incapable of proving Gods existence at this time?

If so, is it possible that at some point in the future we will be capable?

Take for instance, the belief that the earth is flat (ancient belief not present day rapper's Wheres the Curve argument). A long time ago, the common belief was that the Earth was flat. It was undisputed. The "scientists" or great minds of the time all conferred. Why? because they were incapable of proving otherwise due to cognitive and/or technological limitations. Simply put, they had no way of knowing or proving otherwise. So at that time, the earth being flat was a scientific fact. Extend that analogy to the present day argument regarding the existence of God. Atheists demand that Theists prove that god exists. Theists demand that Atheists prove that God doesnt exist. Is it possible that we, as a species, are simply not at a point in our development that we can prove either way? Who is to say that in 1000 years we will not have developed a test, experiment, or cognitive ability to definitively answer the question of whether or not a Deity exists?

We are capable of proving God exists and have been capable for hundreds of years. Anyone who has cracked a science book knows this to be a fact.

For years the atheist agenda has sought to bury this evidence or pretend it does not exist. Any good design intimates a good designer.

Nowhere at any time has science ever demonstrated anything evolving to a higher order. It has never happened, never been done period. Evolution always digresses to a less complex stage not a more complex stage.

Capable scientists reject this theory. That's why we have 10 more theories to choose from and some of them actually make sense.

As a former agnostic its very disappointing to me when I see educated Christians make statements about not being able to prove the existence of God. If I couldn't prove the existence of God I would have to in all honesty still be an agnostic.

Im not and theres a reason for it. God exists and that's the only logical conclusion possible after we have reviewed all the evidence.

Is it possible that we are simply incapable of proving Gods existence at this time?

    More than possible - it's 100% probable!

    And always will be!

Is it possible for a god-like entity to exist?

For a broad definition of "possible", perhaps. Possible is not the same as "probable" or even "likely".

Is it possible that there is no evidence of a God that we can find yet?

It could be the case, but that would put some hard limits on what this god-like being can be, or what it can have done.

Absence of evidence where evidence should be found, is an indicator of what this God is NOT. Even if we don't know what it IS, or if it exists.

IF a god-like being exists, but has not been detected yet by any of our observations of reality, this means whatever effects this being has caused, they can't show in any observations we have made so far. We know the observations we have made, so we know where this God-like being cannot be, so far.

    - This God-like being, if it exists, does not interfere with any of the laws of physics we know, since they have never been observed to be violated.

    - This God-like being, if it exists, does not act upon any physical reality that we can perceive, since the effect would be detectable by our current tests.

    - This God-like being, if it exists, has not intervened in the making of this Universe any time after the Big bang, since we have evidence of natural processes leading to this state, and can trace it all the way back to the Big Bang.

    - This God-like being, if it exists, does not visibly manifest itself outside people's minds. If it manifests itself in people's minds, the manifestation is indistinguishable from a hallucination, a dream or an internally generated delusion to all the tests neuroscience can currently perform.

So this God-like being, if it exists, cannot have acted in the past in any way that would be detectable by current methods, be a detectable part of the Universe we can observe, or have any detectable effect on the Universe we can currently detect, including humanity and nature.

It would seem that, for that God-like being to exist, but remain undetected by current science, it would have to be pretty much irrelevant to anything we experience and anything we do in our life. It would have to be Impotent or inactive in the Universe we can detect right now, and unable or unwilling to act in a detectable manner.

That is... pretty much indistinguishable from non-existing. Even if such a being was discovered later, it would have to be either impotent (but then, why would we say it is God-like?) or very, very lazy (in which case, it would still not affect our lives).

Your whole point is based on a false premise. It has never been a scientific fact that the Earth was flat. It was scientists who disputed this and were disbelieved. It was only as scientists put together the evidence that was always there that people eventually believed them.

There is no proof of gods because no gods exist. Don't you think it strange that whenever a civilisation dies out its gods always die out with it? No gods exist and none have ever been shown to exist. Theists have had thousands of years. They will never prove gods exist quite simply because it is impossible to prove the existence of something that does not exist.

I call the universe God like EInstein. It was never anything magical except to those on magic mushrooms. It is what it is. Nobody knows the full extent of what exactly that is, but it definitely isn't all the crazy things that thousands of different people have imagined it is. It simply can't be all of them. And yet, by the definition that God is everything, then it is those things as well. They do exist, or have existed, in people's minds.

No. God does not "exist" because He is obviously not an actual part of the objective physical universe. So far as humanity knows, only physical matter (atoms and molecules, etc.) can actually exist within the spacetime of the only known universe.

It is also true that God is a mental abstraction which can occupy each person's subjective mind. ...that God is actually a mental phenomenon which has no independent objective existence. Back in 1641, Rene Descartes was the first to correctly explain the dual nature (subjective/objective) of reality. In a nutshell, 375 years ago, Descartes proved objective physical reality and subjective mental experiences are seperate and distinct. ...that the Catholics (Christians) erroneously pretend their own mental experiences are the basis of reality, while the scientists know for a fact that physical matter is the basis of objective reality.

In other words, God's purported "existence" as a strictly mental phenomenon has already been proved, along with the fact that He has no independent objective physical existence of His own.. Only people who imagine their "thoughts are real" are able to believe the Christian God "exists."

God's existence is proven by what has been created. Creation points to a creator! People think that proving God's existence should involve some complex scientific test or process but God made it simple to discern Him through nature so that everyone can see that he exists and so that no one will have an excuse

Yes, the Bible provides compelling evidence that God exists. It encourages us to build faith in God, not by blindly believing religious assertions, but by using our “power of reason” and “mental perception.” (Romans 12:1; 1 John 5:20, footnote) Consider the following lines of reasoning based on the Bible:

The existence of an orderly universe containing life points to a Creator. The Bible says: “Of course, every house is constructed by someone, but the one who constructed all things is God.” (Hebrews 3:4) Although this logic is simple, many well-educated people find it to be powerful. *

As humans, we have an innate desire to understand the meaning and purpose of life, a type of hunger that can remain after our physical needs have been met. This is part of what the Bible calls our “spiritual need,” which includes the desire to know and worship God. (Matthew 5:3; Revelation 4:11) This spiritual need not only gives evidence that God exists but also indicates that he is a loving Creator who wants us to satisfy that need.—Matthew 4:4.

Detailed prophecies in the Bible were written centuries ahead of time and came true exactly as predicted. The accuracy and detail of those predictions strongly suggest that they came from a superhuman source.—2 Peter 1:21.

Planet Earth as seen from space

Bible writers had scientific knowledge that was beyond the understanding of their contemporaries. For example, in ancient times many peoples believed that the earth was supported by an animal, such as an elephant, a boar, or an ox. In contrast, the Bible says that God is “suspending the earth upon nothing.” (Job 26:7) Similarly, the Bible correctly describes the shape of the earth as a “sphere,” or “globe.” (Isaiah 40:22, footnote; Douay Version) Many people feel that the most reasonable explanation for such advanced understanding is that Bible writers received their information from God.

The Bible answers many difficult questions, the type of questions that when not satisfactorily answered can lead a person to atheism. For example: If God is loving and all-powerful, why is there suffering and evil in the world? Why is religion so often an influence for bad rather than for good?—Titus 1:16.

Your premise is flawed and fails from the start. Science has buried 50,000+ gods throughout history and continues to do so.

It used to be that Gods existed in the sea, at the top of the highest mountains, in the clouds, in the sky -- etc. The farther civilization can explore, the farther religion is forced to hide their God(s).

Current ecclesiastical leaders believe they've won the argument for all time by "raising the bar / hiding place" claiming that God(s) exist outside of space, time and the physical laws of this universe. So by their own definition, God doesn't exist at all except as a concept.

    Oops.

No and my discovery now proves the existence of a Intelligent Designer named the God Yahweh very possible. My discovery of the clean and unclean food and hygiene laws established over 3500 years ago in the Book of Leviticus being based all this time on someone's working knowledge of the germ theory of disease and the modern human body and other advanced fields of science unknown to mankind at that time and some fields of science still unknown to mankind today now proves the existence of a Intelligent Designer that knew these fields of science long before mankind learned of them.My discovery also brings to light mankind's misinterpretation of this scripture and giving them the unscientific religious interpretations we still think they mean today due to our lack of scientific knowledge to properly interpret what is written. LLooks like the debate over Intelligent Design Theory is now far from over and in fact has just begun.
