I still think a school of celebes rainbows or another small tetra or rasbora species.

Get more plants, plastic is ok, tall plants, bunches of them.

Unless it's a live plant tank with correct lighting, then get bunches of live plants.

Hatchets were a good suggestion.

Don't do this all at once, add a school at a time, and feed less food for three weeks to give the filter time to adjust to the new bioload.

Probably best to add the ram last, a couple months later after the tetras have had time to grow and settle in

Preferably school fish

Danio tend to spend a lot of the time at the upper regions of the tank. Marble Hatchets are another suitable top dweller.
