Ac router upgrade?

I got a link sys e3000 and if I upgrade to the wrt1900acs will all my wireless be faster like laptop x1 and direct TV on demand or do you have to buy ac network adaptors for them to download faster?

    AC needs AC clients. And actually, AC range is less than N, in some cases.

    But you can test it. Make the AC router into an Access Point, on another SSID.

    Then you can test devices on both to see which is better.
