Need some advice from men - would you act like this with a girl who is just a friend? Does he like me or just being nice/a gentleman? Thanks?

My boss gave me tix for a carnival w/ a concert at the end (w kinda sappy music), and I invited a close guy friend of mine who my friends think likes me. I didnt feel that way about him (or just didnt realize I did until recently) and didnt actually think he would come bc he lives 2hrs away, but he did! We made these plans 3+ weeks in advance and he had PLENTY of time to back out, but when we confirmed the plans, he said he would pick me up (turns out he brought a jacket along "in case one of us gets cold," and opened the car door for me).

This is a guy who calls me "darlin" and cute and asks me what my future life plans are, and on Valentines day he asked my bff what my plans were. He also hugs me alot, puts his arm around me, and tapped my upper thigh in a convo. Anyway:

We spent pretty much the whole day/night there - shared food and walked around sharing a massive cup of beer. He did stuff like tell me what his strategies were for winning the games (referencing his muscles) and when i told him a story about another guy friend of mine in passing, he was totally dismissive and said "well good for him." At the concert, our arms were touching the entire time but when the night ended, he NEVER MADE A MOVE!!

Am I just reading too much into this situation? I would def drive that far to hang out w a guy if it were a group thing, but the whole jacket/car door thing just seems so date-y to me and am now confused abt whats going on and would appreciate any advice - thanks!
