Car's RPM When Cruising on Highway?

i dont know why. someone told me to throw it in neutral while cruising though i dont think thats something u should do. anyone know why the car rpm stays up a bit at high speed? thanks

Yes, that's how gear boxes work.
Modern automatics basically"lock up" the torque converter in higher gears, so the engine revs are always linked directly to the wheel speed. At lower revs the drive goes through the torque converter, which has some "slip". So around town you may notice the revs going up and down as you adjust the throttle. But at open road speeds it generally doesn't.

its normal if you have cruise control on
its also normal for manual transmission without cruise control
