I need suggestions as to what is up with the repair people around here...south Texas. I want to replace all the fascia board and do a small repair job in a couple of places on different corners instead of making it a big repair job. The corners have been leaking for some time and all the boards look like they are about to fall apart. The first repair person never call ed me back although he advertises he replaces fascia board. The second one today told me that to paint the new fascia board would be $17 a linear foot. I can only assume I will not hear from him either. It would seem to me that people that do exterior repair would have scaffolding and cutting the corners of fascia board would be no big deal...thats what they do for a living. I don't mind paying what would be fair but these guys don't seem professional at all. I need to get this work done and I have not turned down anything but have not been given an estimate stating what they would do and how they would do it. How does one find someone qualified to do this type of work? I've been to Angie's List and the yellow pages.

It sounds like you are dealing with fly by night guys. You should probably contact a professional.
