The Storming of Bastille was considered the beginning of the French Revolution

-In later years, this entered French people’s collective consciousness (an internal consciousness, or awareness, shared by a nation)

-Continues to remind people that ordinary citizens can bring great change

The Bourgeoisie were ultimately the ones to screw Louis XVI

Bourgeoisie: New middle class, both educated and rich

-People like Voltaire used the mass media of the day to poke fun at nobility and

the growing middle class were the most influenced by these

ultimately overthrew Louis’ plans for new taxes to fix the economy

Before Bastille, the economy was just like the Boomers left it (Pre-1789)

-the ongoing war with Britain & other countries left France nearly bankrupt

    -economy was a mess

-The aristocrats blocked Louis’ plan to tax them

    The weather Gods were unforgiving

-There was a flood and dry spell

-This destroyed grain crops and the price of bread rose

-Bread was pretty much at fault for the riots

    The Goshdang Cake Lady

-Marie Antoinette, the queen, was Austrian and people believed her to be Agent 007

-People got pissed that the royal court was so rich

-Naturally, they blamed the queen, who they thought to be a spy

    Putting the Dynamite in Napoleon

-After revolutionary leaders destroyed the opposition revolutionaries split into small groups

-Napoleon emerged as leader and conquered Europe with a series of wars

-He laid the foundation for the legal system in France

I think the royals were publicly beheaded after the uprisings, I don t exactly know if their direct descendants are still around today, I would assume no.
