Asus Laptop Freezing and Slow! Even on Start Up! Computer experts needed!!!!?

Out of nowhere my Asus Laptop started not responding during regular use and then I force reset it and it now takes 30 mins to get passed the Asus boot window.

It has a 1Tb HDD split into a C and D drive. I know the C drive was nearly full (maybe less than 1GB left).

I tried a refresh, recover and repair before doing a Factory reset. After the factory reset it was still not responding.

The HDD activity light still blinks, there are no unusual sounds.

    Hi there Robert,

It seems that you are facing a hardware related issue after this persists even after factory reset.

In case you have any data stored on the drive, you need to back it up. You may be able to access the drive with the Ubuntu Live CD approach. Boot up Ubuntu from a flash drive or a CD, access the drive, back up the data and switch back to Win.

In case you have no data on the drive, you can just test it with some HDD testing tool for DOS mode. You can use some OS based as well, in case the system is responsive.

Unfortunately, most probably the HDD is failing.

    Hope this will help,
