My gas tank door is frozen shut is it safe to use a hair dryer to thaw it out?

    rubbing alcohol will work, could put it in a spray bottle or just pour some on i dont think a hair dryer is going to hurt anything either but it will take longer

    Rub with towel damped in hot water or Use hot warer spray as sugested above by Barfalomew it is safe.

    Use hot water in a spray bottle with 1/3 rubbing alcohol.

    Yes, that should be fine Once you've got the door open, dry the hinges, catch etc. and lubricate them to help prevent a recurrence.

    Windshield washer fluid works fine.

    since it is only hot air, I don't see a problem. Flame, yeah, a real problem.

    Does it open with your key? If so, you can heat the key and insert it and it will melt any moisture in the keyhole.

    as long as it dont excede the flash point of your gasoline tempeture it will be ok
