How fast will Republicans wimp out on their promise to not approve an Obama nominee?

They will not wimp out, but will pay a very heavy price for literally obstructing justice. It will take its toll in the next election and may even lead to a Democratic senate as well as Presidency. Then they will have to sleep in the bed they made for themselves, and have no say at all as to the nominee. They are better off approving a moderate now while they have control over the senate, than having a liberal nominee forced upon them later. IMO

About as fast as they threatened to shut down the government over Planned Parenthood funding before reversing and approving full funding again for Planned Parenthood. Obama always WINS.

You ask a good question, but I think the American People are getting wise to their many failures we'll just have to wait and see what they do this time.

As soon as they realize that it only makes them look like obstructionists and will hurt them politically in the long run with voters. So...it may take them awhile...they aren't very keen on picking up those kinda clues. They're in their own bubble.

Here's conservative idol Ronald Reagan imploring Congress to fulfill their "constitutional obligation" to fill a SCOTUS vacancy when he was at a similar point in his presidency to Obama (justice Anthony Kennedy was confirmed on Feb 3, 1988).

Depends on who the nominee is, if he is a left wing anti-America type I am sure that they will fight it to the bitter end.

unfortunately way too quickly which is *another reason* the GOP must elect a LEADER this year.
