I'm really upset I lost my second rat today he escaped his cage and I serously can't find her. the thing is my mom said I CNAN"T get a?
I've had a pair and one expaced him about a week and i seriously can't find him and mom mom was pretty mad I got them in the first place. she likely won't let me get a cage mate for the little one I currently have If I can't find fyda:( I know they do gest in pairs and I feel really horrible about loosing this one. what can I do to convince her that pairs are necessary?

So glad you found your rat. I was going to suggest looking behind the clothes dryer. Our hamster used to escape and hide in the clothes dryer. He would follow a trail of Cheerios to the bedroom at night so we knew he was still in the house. It is maddening to lose your pets. Glad for the happpy ending. We ended up putting him in a linen closet at night . He lived to be very, very old. It was a way to keep him safe if he did escape as I had a kitty who was way too interested in him.
