Are meteorites classified as igneous rocks?

Or are they metamorphic? I'm quite certain they're not sedimentary. Maybe they are not any of those.

It would depend on the type of meteorite. Iron meteorites are technically igneous since they crystallized from a 'magma' of liquid iron-nickel. Some stony achondrites are also igneous and contain igneous cumulate textures. Some are brecciated though as a result of impact metamorphism in which case they are obviously metamorphic.

Chondrites are a bit funny though. They are formed from material that condensed directly from the solar nebula, so they are really neither igneous, sedimentary or metamorphic.
