Should I do some writing today?

I'm in the process of casting my new independant (like cheap grade 500$ total cost) film but haven't written the script. I usually work 6:30 to 3:30 but got given a 3:00-10:00 and still have five hours before work.

I'm at the point where I have so many ideas that in a matter of probably 2 hours I can push out a new script---almost metaphor wise like puking it. But I don't want to be tired for work and know that writing tires a person out seeing as I've done it for some time.

What do you think, should I just say screw it and write?

OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD...

Since you're going to become an indie film director/producer (a la Spike Lee and Quentin Tarantino), I presume you are familiar with the famous 2-DAY FILM SCHOOL by one Dov Simens. It is now known as the Hollywood Film School --

    http://www.webfilmschool.com/

In his materials, he advises you to write 3 scripts with three budgets in mind -- a low-budget indie movie, a medium budget film and a large budget film. (No word on whether he expects you to write a "TENTPOLE" $100M-budget film like IRON MAN...) AFTER you write these three scripts to industry standards, THEN you should start looking for your FINANCING and your cast.

Secondly, when directors tell everyone that they made an indie movie by spending only $5,000, THEY ARE LYING. This is explained in the first lesson of Mr. Simens' filmmaking classes. They never tell you the REAL budget, because they have to negotiate a sale with an acquisition executive... but once they signed that deal and the check is in their account, then they blab all sorts of BS to the press about how their film is the cheapest ever made.

But back to the answer -- yes, you should do some writing (or re-writing, as the case may be).

Well, write of course. Unless you're going to be doing the filming today, there should be time to rewrite, edit and revise later. At least do something productive with that time. Good luck.
