Why did WWE create WWE Network?

It's good for customers and fans, but what's the benefit for WWE? Before they made $50 each time someone watch a pay per view but now only $10. So why did WWE decide to make a network?

that 54.99 he used to get also used to get divided up between him, the cable company, lawyers for negotiating with the cable company... and several other parties

the 9.99 ends up almost entirely in Vince's Pocket... not to mention being Advertising for everything else WWE does... as much as each show is it's own show (which he can sell an occasional commercial, not counting PPV sponsors) the Network helps sell merchandise and house shows and the shows on USA

beyond that, 1 Million people paying $10 is $10M, regardless if they actually watch all the PPVs... 150,000 people pay $45 and you're only at $6.75M... sure some PPVs have a better buy rate... but making the monthly income uniform and predictable helps stabilize the stock prices..

    - Could you imagine the Rollercoaster the prices would be based on earnings reports comparing Rumble, Fastlane and Mania to the April, May and June... actually you don't have to Imagine, because they've been public for almost 20 years... prior to the Network launch (and even the first year) they took an Annual Stock hit... -- they launched February 2014 (the day after the PPV IIRC) and it was that summer post Mania with the infamous stock drop that reduced Vince from Billionaire to Millionaire... last year no huge drop...

    To make more money.

Believe it or not, WWE actually profits from the network. PPVs may cost 55 dollars, but WWE didn't collect that entire amount. They received probably less than 10 dollars per buy. The rest goes to the provider and all the other parties involved.

Cause Vince wants to be the Walt Disney of wrestling. True story.
