Acrylic or oil paint for this small project?
I want to make a wall quote using white lettering on black canvas. It'll be very simple, just words Which type of paint would be the best choice to achieve bright white writing on a black background?
I have to start with a black canvas and paint white on it instead of the other way around because the size I need is only available in black.

use acrylic, its easier for what you are doing. you can get very bright white that will dry quickly as apposed to oil which could take days.
