How do I Firm up a softening Mattress?

I bought a supposedly extra firm mattress a few months ago. After the first two nights on it, it started softening up, and now it's hurting my back and legs badly. The manufacturer is not going to honor the warranty, they usually never do, and I can't afford another bed right now. What can I put on it to make it firmer? I already tried wood under it, but that isn't helping at all. I can't sleep on memory foam. I need a harder surface. Do they sell firm toppers? I really need to do something because it's really crippling me.

Update:

I spoke with someone in their corporate office. They said to go back to the store and pick a different one and they will waive the fees and charge me fifty dollars to deliver it and take the bad one. But she was shady on pricing another one because I bought this one at a special discount. And I told her I can't afford to spend another dime. I will go to the store this week and see what I can find.

You've only had for a few months and already broke into a softer mattress? Oh no, no, no... ...your hard earned money is YOUR hard earned money. I'd call them again and let them know if they do not stand behind their warranty you will take it up with Better Business Bureau. ...if they still don't honor it, then do make sure you put in a complaint to the BBB, and also write up a review on Yelp. It's a little extra footwork on your end but it'll be worth it. They do not want a bad reputation so they should solve the problem to your satisfaction. ...you shouldn't have to purchase a new mattress after only a few months. Companies get away with **** because consumers don't want to deal with the headache.

...in the meanwhile, since a wood board didn't work, I'd take some Motrin or Aleve before bedtime to keep the pain and inflammation to a minimum. ..I sometimes get raging sciatica and Motrin does help subside the nerve pain.

2/26 Addendum: Just saw your update, seriously, you shouldn't have to pay another penny. Sometimes we, as consumers, have no other choice than to make a stink in order to be heard and to stand up for our rights. I would ask to speak with manager. If this manager gives you a bullshit patronizing answer, then I would tell them you want to speak with highest corporate manager. Get his name, phone # etc. They need to stand by their merchandise. If they have it labeled as super firm, then it better deliver as super firm for years to come. ...I feel for you, be strong, don't worry about being a nuisance. Actually I think you should be a thorn in their side until they get you either a new mattress (no xtra $ out of your pocket) or refund ALL your money back.

Put a board 9 some people use a flat door) under the mattress is about the best you can do. Are you sure it's not just that you aren't used to the new mattress - they all have to have some give in them.. Did you try it out before you bought it which is always recommended and if you didn't worth remembering another time. Memory foam supports the parts of your body that need it but can make you very hot and sweaty and I quite understand you can't sleep on that. The board is about the best suggestion.
