  • Can I be charged for an ambulance I did not call?

A friend got worried when she didn't hear from me this morning and called an ambulance on me. I didn't even answer the door because I'm fine, didn't call for help, and was scared they would try to get me to sign billing forms. I told them I had been sleeping and was fine, and they left. No papers were signed. I'm just scared they will send a bill to my address. My friend went completely crazy doing this. She hadn't heard from me since only last night. And she freaked out when I didn't respond to an email and phone message. I never got the email she supposedly sent, and my phone was off so I didn't get the voice message. Am I going to get a surprise ambulance bill? She called them for no reason and without my knowledge or consent. And I didn't let them in or give any information.

  • How do I Firm up a softening Mattress?

I bought a supposedly extra firm mattress a few months ago. After the first two nights on it, it started softening up, and now it's hurting my back and legs badly. The manufacturer is not going to honor the warranty, they usually never do, and I can't afford another bed right now. What can I put on it to make it firmer? I already tried wood under it, but that isn't helping at all. I can't sleep on memory foam. I need a harder surface. Do they sell firm toppers? I really need to do something because it's really crippling me.

  • Apartment damages bill, what can I do about it?

I moved out of a HUD apartment a month ago. Got a crazy bill for over a thousand dollars claiming I did damages and they had to replace the carpet. None of it is true. I even have pictures from the day before I moved out where the place is neat and clean and there's nothing wrong.

They are claiming they took pictures three days after I moved out and that it was trashed.

I also have witnesses who saw that the place was neat and clean when I left.

I can't find a lawyer to handle it because I have no money for one. Legal aid is useless here. They never return my calls and don't do a thing. I called half a dozen local lawyers and all of them said they no longer handle landlord tenant issues, others wanted hefty fees that I can't afford.

The building manager and HUD are harassing me and want me to pay almost a hundred dollars a month for this. I can't afford that and I told them I will not agree to anything I cannot afford. They even threatened to pull the whole amount out of my bank. I had to put a stop payment on it. It would have bounced everything.

What can they do to me since this is HUD, and I moved into a different HUD owned property? And how do I get a real lawyer when I'm this poor and legal aid doesn't seem to work here? They never return calls and the few dealings I've had with their legal aid office, they never did a thing for me. I don't know how to get anyone else to represent me.

  • Where can I find an Irulu Tablet USB Driver for Windows 8.1?

I bought an Irulu 7" tablet, it's running Android 42.2 Jelly Bean. Win 8.1 and Win 7 won't let me connect to it by USB. I just keep getting told I need a USB driver for this. Irulu's website does not list my model in their drivers section, nor do they seem to have any USB drivers up. Where can I find a driver for this tablet? The model is just Irulu_MID. I do not know the chipset for it.

  • My Cat Threw Up Blood?

My older, fifteen year old cat just threw up quite a bit of bright red blood. She has been vomiting kind of frequently all year, and I suspected acid reflux. I have no money for any kind of vet care right now. Like it's the worst time financially. I cannot afford tests or pet meds. I don't know what to do. This is the first time she ever threw up blood. It's usually just regular cat vomit. Without money, what am I supposed to do?

  • Can I Transfer from Public Housing to Another State's Public Housing?

I'm in a Public Housing building in PA. I want to move to Florida to be with family, as my health is not good and I'd really like to spend my remaining time with family. I no longer have section 8 because in order to move into the Public Housing building, they had me drop the section 8. And now they are kind of holding that against me and saying I voluntarily gave it up and they won't give it back. I can't even reapply because the Sec 8 waiting list has been closed here for four years.

I want to transfer from this public housing building to one down in Florida. Even if I have to pay for the move. But I don't know if they allow such a transfer out of state. Has anyone ever done this type of transfer before?

  • Can I bring a lawsuit against a neighbor spraying air fresheners in an apartment?

I live in an apartment that has started to ban smoking. I've been having a problem with the person under my apart smoking. Since the ban announcement and date were set for June, this person has now started to spray air fresheners, in a failed attempt to hide their smoking, that are getting into my eyes and lungs and burning my eyes and skin and causing severe asthma attacks, worse than their secondhand smoke. I'm dizzy from the sprays, I've had heart pain and nausea from them. It's bad enough they have ruined my place with their smoke, but this new chemical assault has me so sick. They must be spraying it right at the venting, too, or I wouldn't be getting hit so badly. Nothing I have tried stops their smoke or sprays from getting into my apartment. I did speak with the building's manager today and she said she is going to call them and tell them to stop spraying and she will be fining them in June if I smell anything past June first. But this is February, the ban isn't for a few months. And I'm being made sick.

Can a lawsuit be brought against them for chemical assault or anything? I am on disability for asthma, multiple chemical sensitivities, and circulatory and immune system disorders. Their chemicals are making me much worse. They shouldn't be allowed to do anything that gets into my body or my apartment. And puts me in a life threatening situation with the asthma attacks and other symptoms. The management here will not allow any changes to be made to my apartment to keep the smoke and chemicals out. So I don't know if it's the building or the tenant I should be suing.

Has anyone ever successfully sued over this kind of thing before? Would I even have a case? I cannot afford to move. And I'd have to get a legal aid lawyer.

  • Are phones missing from elevators a building code violation?

I live in a disabled and elderly HUD low income apartment building. The phones have been missing from both elevators for at least over four months now. We all live in fear of getting stuck in the elevators and having no way of calling for help if our cells don't get reception in them. Maintenance leaves around three thirty in the afternoon, so any time after that, if you get stuck, there's no way of calling for help. Is it a building code violation that the phones are missing from the elevators, and if so, what type of violation. I don't know who to report it to. I can't go to the manager. She seems to make her own rules and if you ask for help on anything the answer is always no.
