My family is making me want to go away for college but I don t want to spend that money?

I have 3 brothers and I m the first to go away to college and there is a big age difference between us all. The boys are SO ungodly annoying and loud and terribly behaved. And my parents are overprotective, get mad when I spend too much time in my room or on my phone, and ask me a million questions whenever I get home from hanging out with someone or going somewhere. They have to know every little detail about everything and it s really making me want to get out of here but they get mad whenever I talk about leaving because they want me to commute. I don t want to spend all the extra money for living expenses but I m really not enjoying life right now

    Could you afford to live on campus for just the first year? That time away from them will help you grow and help them learn to respect your independence. Things may be easier if you want to later move back home to finish school. Their focus will be shifted to your brothers by then too and they will probably leave you alone.
