Because it's likened to children in communist countries forced to recite their allegiance to the supreme leader.
Plus it's also unconstitutional since it promotes and implies that the U.S is a christian nation under the rule of the abrahamic god.

They don't. But, just as Smoking Joe says, above, take out the "under God." Otherwise, it's fine. (No, I'm not an atheist. Just that there should be a separation of church and state.)

It promotes blind loyalty and ultra-nationalism. I never say the pledge, because I don't owe my allegiance or undying loyalty to any country. My government owes allegiance to me, not the other way around. It doesn't help that it used to include a nazi style salute.

Just take out the "under God" part that is unconstitutional and put there by constitution trampling thug Joe McCarthy in the 1950's.

We don't, that is a strawman argument. It is funny, however, that Conservatives stress the "under God" clause, but hesitate on the word "indivisible".

They want to remove under God from our constitution and in God we trust from our money. They think destroying family values and making perverts into special citizens is "progress". It is sad really.

Because XTIANS forced the whole "god" thingy into it. Nobody wants any part in your theocratic fascist utopia.
