How old does a dog have to be to be unable to breed?

A small dog.

    Dogs can breed until the day they day they die, but shouldn't be bred after five/six years and not before two years and no more than 2-3 times.

    They should not be bred past the age of six or seven. However, if you're asking at what age they are no longer capable of becoming pregnant, the answer is never. It is just a much higher risk pregnancy and delivery in an older dog.

    Professionals retire the dam near 6 years old. Think before you breed a mutt.
