Why am I not losing weight?

I'm 14 years old, I'm vegan and I weigh 256 lbs. On an average day, I eat oatmeal (280 cals) for lunch fruits, vegetables, bread (averaging about 250 cals) and then for dinner I eat 3 cups cooked rice and 3 potatoes (about 941 cals) total is 1,471 calories. My BMR is around 2,000. I drink a lot of water. I'm lightly active at school, but exercise is not my thing. Why am I not losing weight?

Do you use a food scale to weigh your food? Cups are not an accurate way of measuring food at all, a food scale is the only way to be precise and don't trust labels that say 'X amount of calories in this pack' etc because they are estimates and always wrong, even small differences soon add up.

Take for example the cereal bar I had earlier, it says 68 calories per bar, I weighed it and calculated it based on the amount per 100 grams and it was 82, the pack is only required to state the average amount based on the estimated weight of the contents.

Weigh food, measure liquids, calculate calories and keep a food diary, you may well be surprised to find that you are eating more than you think.
