Does 'no news is good news' mean the same as 'all news is bad news' ?

    If you only use logic, and good news means not getting bad news, then it works because not getting any news implies not getting bad news.

    Or at least "News is usually bad news". Ever watch the news? It's true.

    No.

    The old adage is

    BAD news travels faster than GOOD news

    SOoo...if one is waiting fearfully...for an update on some awful event you are interested in/affected by

    and hours slip by..with NO news...the other adage applies

    (No news is good news)

    Which simply means...We must remain Hopeful/Optimistic until the best/worst is confirmed to us.

    some news is bad.

    if there is no news, that's good.

    These days all news is worse news. The good news is that they are not worst... yet.
