No. Marriage doesn't CAUSE divorce, although you cannot have a divorce without first having a marriage.

PEOPLE choose divorce. Various issues that come between those people, may be the "cause" of them CHOOSING to divorce.

Marriage is the only way divorce can happen. You can hardly divorce someone if you haven't even married them. However, just the simple act of saying 'I do' doesn't automatically cause a loving relationship to fall apart.

Ultimately, it's the choices you make, the things you say, and the ideas you have that cause a divorce. Conflicting opinions, cheating, a sharp mouth can all lead to divorce. But just marriage alone? Impossible.

Marriage isn't a cause of divorce I don't think. the main reasons for divorce is basic incompatibility. people think they can change and adapt to living intimately with another person, very often the word compromise fails to be understood or act upon, and hey presto people get fed up and think what the heck!.. plenty more people out there .. and divorce follows pretty quickly.

I would hazard a guess that most people reflexively say it is money, but I would kind of agree with the concept of the problem being marriage in the first place. Another take on it involves the reasons people get married in the first place, which would make marriage the #1 cause of divorce.

Dudes get married, and commit to a single woman in essence to get unfettered sexual access. Women get married for access to resources, and stuff, and status upgrades. In order to trick a guy into giving up half of his earning potential, at least, girls act sexual, to lure in the male. They wear attire which screams "PUSSY!" as written across their tail-end. Everything a woman does is to lure in a suitable male, what with their cleavage-revealing shirts and thigh-gap presenting leggings. So the male believes that sex is in their future, but in reality it is only a charade. Shortly after the wedding, the male finds himself no longer getting unfettered access. Women will claim the romance is gone and all that bullshits, but really the drive for them to offer sexual access to the male is what is gone.

Sure, women all over, and possibly some dudes will disagree, but ask yourself this: why is the term 'cheating' in reference to sex? Why is it actually an illegitimate marriage in some states, and in some religions, if not 'consummated'? Marriage is 99.99% about sex, and since sexual incompatibility is the #1 reason for divorce, then I guess, yes, one could argue that marriage is the #1 cause of divorce.

Yes, much in the same way that being alive is the leading cause of dying.
