Questions about a lawyer creating a will?

When I have a lawyer make a will for me are they supposed to file it with the state or the county? I'm in California by the way. Thank you in advance for your answers.

No, the will is not filed obligatorily anywhere while you re alive. You CAN, if you wish, but that's up to you. When you die, whoever is dealing with your affairs will have to file it then.

If you ask them to. Wills don't have to be filed in most places.
