How to get back my writing spark?

I don't know what happened, but I seem to have lost all spark for writing. It's strange because when I was younger, I loved to write, whether it was short stories, fanfiction, poetry, etc. I even had a high school literature teacher tell me that I had the potential for a career in writing. Yet now I've lost all that creative spark. The only type of writing I can do now is boring, dry academic essay writing. My creative juice is practically nonexistent now compared to when I was younger.

The same thing happened to me. I tried everything people would recommend - listen to inspirational music, look at art, take walks etc etc etc. None of that worked. The only thing that can get your spark back is if you start writing creatively. It'll be crap when you start up again, no doubt about it. It'll feel dull and monotonous but keep doing it. Go back and edit your stuff. Then go forward. Start new things. Just...keep writing. And eventually you'll feel it flow into you. It's like exercising a muscle.

The other thing is read :) Read every day.

One's inner life, inner sense, innocence, inner child, childlike joy, soul-field, is part of creativity, and these books help in the work necessary to maintain creative freshness: "Creation: Artistic and Spiritual" by Aivanhov, "The Answer You're Looking for Is inside You," and "Shakespeare's Window into the Soul" by Martin Lings.
