I still want to know why everyone is so scared to let us see who they are. So many anonymous, so many with their info hidden.?

Because some people don't like others looking at their profile and then turn around making a remark about their points etc on their own answers.

And also some have stalkers who like to go around TD's their answers and making snide remark about them.

Some don't want to be notice if they are helping someone with something personal.

Now there are some who use it to troll and make nasty questions etc.

So there is always a reason and I wouldn't worry about it..go by their answers not their avatar or nickname.

Who knows? They mustn't be on here for social reasons.

It is so easy to act out when nobody can relate it to you.

But, some slip up, like my little stalker Peter. He only thinks he is hidden.

Only cowards and liars ever use that blue face. You know a post is dishonest as soon as you see that thing.

We need to rid this place of that insanity, and of the ability to move stuff to inappropriate places. that is just censorship at an infantile level.

When the level 7 abilities came in, what happened was some abusive users would sift through people's questions and answers and then mass delete them, causing the people they didn't like to lose 100's and 1000's of points. So in retaliation many people made their profiles hidden. In addition to this, people started posting anonymously, because those abusive users would resort to deleting their questions and asnwers as they saw them.

I don't understand it either. It's not like anyone knows who we really are anyway.

True... the anon feature is pretty asinine.. since people's usernames are already anon in the first place
