Does anyone know what year WWE stopped the chairshots to the top of the head?

I miss those days and action, it showed how mean the wrestlers were, and wasn't PG rated.

hmmmmm i think they gradually started phasing them out in 2009, and by 2010 they were pretty much completely done with.... i remember because of the buildup of the cena vs batista 2010 wm 26 match, only back and chest chair shots were used and everyone was like wtf??? lol it just looked weird

nowdays like blood, if done intentionally the wrestlers get fined a tonn - Triple H and Taker got fined for doing the chairshot to the head in one of ther wm matches a few years back, so yeah....not allowed anymore :P

personal opinion - as long as its not significantly hurting the other wrestler, i'm all for it in matches because it adds realism, no one in real life is going to hit you in the gut then back with a chair, but thats just me :P

the only real chairshots to the head that really should be avoided are the solid hard hitting ones that will cause injuries or concussions --- the hardest one i ever remember seeing was triple h literally smashing trevor murdoch's head with a steel chair in 2006 (couldn't find the youtube vid) but it was Hard!

Mid 2008. Both blading and chair shots were banned and WWE went PG around this time.

PG rated has nothing to do with quality of product

As for why they stopped - the benoit situation and all of the concussion talk in mainstream media sports.
