Would new job allow me to take a week vacation?
Would they allow me to take one week vacation after being on the job for a month?
I just got offered the job last week, so I still didn't get the policy run down. They'll call me to come in within the week.
It's a case manager job. Also during the interview, they said, they were in need of a new employee

It is something that needed to be addressed BEFORE you took the job. I'm sure one question you were asked was when you were available to start. If you had mentioned the "vacation" at that time and suggested that you start AFTER, they might have said, no problem start now and we'll plan on you being gone for that week. (If you actually had skills they needed, versus a "job" in McDonalds.)
Tell them now, and I'll bet they will give you two options: (I would if you pulled that on me in my company!)
1. Postpone the vacation until you have been there X number of months, (They would fill in a number for the X) or 2. find a new job when your vacation ends.

If you have a pre-scheduled vacation, the proper thing to do is bring that up at the time of the offer.
If you decide now, that you need a week's vacation after one month on the job, they would not be ok with it.

In most cases, your first 3 months are probationary - where you don't take ANY days off. During that time, you are getting access, acquainted with policy and procedures, overall training to do the job as expected. Taking time off early in the cycle is usually rude, unless it was covered during your interview and known by your manager, at the time you accepted the position.
At this point, I would recommend that you talk to your supervisor about the impending dates, ensure there would be no problems with taking the time off, and expect that even if it is approved, you may not get paid for the time, this early in your employment with the company.

I honestly don't know. You didn't say any of the policies at the place you work at. IF this vacation was planned way ahead of time and before you started your new job, then you might want to talk with your boss about this.

I can't imagine you need one. Seems like you ought to be more interested in learning how to do your new job well. Ask them and find out. It won't get you nominated for employee of the year or anything.

"Also during the interview, they said, they were in need of a new employee." Good grief. Could you not take that for granted? Why else would they be interviewing applicants?

That is something you need to discuss with your manager. We have no way to know what their policy may be about vacation time.
