A good article recently published online, a good read:
Grey Hair Gene Found... But Can It Be Stopped? 3-2-16
Scientists have identified the gene for grey hair - confirming that turning grey with age is partly determined from birth.
The IRF4 gene was identified as the culprit by a British-led team, which analysed DNA samples from 6,357 men and women of mixed ethnic ancestry from five South American countries.
They also found the PRSS53 gene causes hair to curl, EDAR determines beard thickness and hair shape, FOXL2 for eyebrow thickness, and PAX3 which influences the likelihood of growing a monobrow.
A "new" variant of the PRSS53 gene was found to be linked to very straight hair.
The IRF4 gene was already known to play a role in hair, skin and eye colour.
"Premature graying is genetically determined for the most part," David Bank, MD, tells WebMD. Bank is director of the Center for Dermatology, Cosmetic, and Laser Surgery in Mount Kisco, N.Y. "Graying is natural. We all do it eventually."
When more than half the hair is white by age 40, though, this is considered "premature."
DYK: there are 15 shades of colors for blond hair? Red has about 5-7 shades of colors in them. But people don't know that, because they're always covering their hair with hair dyes. Red hair is the rarest of hair colours, and accounts for only 2% of the world's population. Scotland has the highest percentage of natural redheads in the world, with 13%. Ireland comes in second at 10%. I have 4 natural colors on mine, orig. color was blue-black, I also have platinum 35%, dark brown, & light brown. Sometimes, I see platinum hair in the middle of a strand, light brown, blue-black @ the roots, and dark brown @ the tips, and platinum again in other part of the strand . . . .like it just can't make up its mind if it wants to go platinum 100% or not. Today, I found 7 different shades in one strand of hair!

you mean your hair are turning gray at a young age?
Hair goes gray when color-producing cells stop producing pigment, says Jeffrey Benabio, MD, a dermatologist at Kaiser Permanente in San Diego. Smoking, for example, stresses your skin and hair. Low vitamin B12 levels are notorious for causing loss of hair pigment. That could be one of the reasons for the problem. Or like everyone says maybe its due to stress?
But dont sweat the small stuff. I mean I've seen so many of my friends having gray hair and they're only 14. So personally, i think that growing hair has NOTHING to do with aging now. It's just that maybe your cells are a bit weak or something? Its not really a huge problem. Everyone is made differently and no one is exactly perfect. So dont worry about it :) youre not the only one ^^
And if it is really bothering you or maybe your hair are turning gray too much and too fast. Then it would be really good if you pay a doctor a visit. They'll help you and would advice you some medicines or any vitamins that your body is lacking. And this way, you can be satisfied if something really is wrong with you or not :)
Hope i helped! And i hope your problem goes away :3 Have a good day~
