Hooking my 2 main towers from a 7.1.2 surround sound receiver?

When I unhook the 2 mains from the receiver and run them though the amp to power them will the 5 remaining speakers still powered by the receiver being the center, the surrounds and the dolby atmos speaker get more watts to power them since the receiver doesn t have to power the 2 mains any more or are those watt just not being used

Update:

I have a very good onkyo tx-rz900 and bic acoustech pl-980 for the main, pl-28 for the center, pl-66 for surrounds there all 8 omhs theyhave high sensitivity 98db

Update 2:

also any recommended audio rca cables to hook to amp looking at the audioquest golden gate and big sur but its hard to pay around $80-$100 for a 3ft cable are they worth it compared to $20 dollar ones?

There will be a slight improvement in output to the remaining speakers...A lot depends on what AV receiver you have and how its wired but in most consumer grade receivers even if each channel is labeled as discrete they still share many components between channels the power transformer for one which will not have to work as hard...The difference will be slight though as most of the time you are not playing your AV receiver to full capacity anyway a lot depends on what AV receiver you have and how difficult a load the speakers you have present themselves to the amp...and also the volume you play your system at on a regular basis but at least theoretically their should be some improvement in output and also less distortion....

Update 2 Take a look at Blue Jean cables high quality at reasonable prices....also Steren RCA cables...really good at a discount price...
