What do you mean when you say, "I have a personal relationship with Jesus"?

Yeah, think about that, the next time one of these cult whackos says that to you.

They claim to have a personal relationship with the creator of the entire universe (or it's spawn-from-a-virgin-rape, however you want to classify that particular mythical creature) - they claim to talk with it, know its thoughts, know what it wants of them and other people, they even act as its mouthpiece, by threatening others with eternal suffering, damnation and torture in hell...

Imagine the self-important, self-absorbed ego that requires...

Seriously....christians are the most whacked-out people on the planet.

Reminds me of that guy in high school -- the nose-picker who couldn't get a date with a German Shepard, but had a long-term girlfriend in Spain (or wherever) whom nobody ever met....

They mean that if they ask their All-Knowing friend to tell them the serial number of the dollar bill folded up under my stereo, so they can PROVE that this All-Knowing friend CARES whether or not I believe in Him, He will "inspire" them to come up with some excuse as to WHY their relationship does not include two-way communication of things which can be verified.

I will join whichever religion has a God or Goddess which CARES enough to correctly answer that very simple question.

It means we know him personally, we realize that we are sinners, what he did for us on the cross and that we need him in our lives. Relationship with God is speaking to him daily, in prayer and reading his word. God has given us the holy spirit, the world doesn't accept him, because it neither sees him or knows him.

This gift is foreign to a non believer.

It is called pretense. Disinformation.

A way to feel superior to others without really being same.

It is just more of the usual smoke and mirrors that is religion.

A personal relationship to me with Jesus is one that is in my imagination pretty well coordinated with His ideas. Ideas that are real even if Jesus never was.

It means they are not following the Bible and following some denomination of feelings, not facts.
