Am I dreaming or did Osweiler just agree to a 4-year 72 million dollar contract?

That's...what...why would any team do that? Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the guy whatsoevever. but that's top tier money, no?

He got a great offer and Houston thinks they know him better than the Broncos. Most assuredly, this won't work out for the Texans.

Yes, he did get that deal from the Texans. It's a gamble on the Texans' part because he doesn't have a long history, but they desperately need a quarterback an Osweiler is considered as better than the incoming rookies especially any that would be available where the Texans will pick.

Houston is desperate for a QB right now. Desperation often leads to overpaying. Hard to blame Houston for offering so much. It will look foolish if he happens to end up being Matt Flynn 2.0 down the road.

That's our GM Rick smith for ya. Drafted Clowney over Khalil Mack just cause of the hype. Now gave a ridiculous offer to this backup QB because he won games thanks to an elite defense.

I am not surprised at the yearly amount I am surprised at the 4 years! When ya see what Bradford and Cousins got this was bound to happen.

And after two years, if he's not good, he gets cut. $72M isn't guaranteed. Only about 1/2 was.

Houston is desperate and they probably overpaid for him, but they obviously thought it was a worthwhile gamble.

    Yeah.

He sure did. Best paying job in the world.
