Can antibiotics cause nausea and vomiting in children?
My 3 year old is taking the antibiotic augmentin for a stubborn respiratory infection. She had a regular dose this morning, and this evening after drinking a little bit of fruit juice with dinner she threw up. Not long ago she had a stomach bug but that was a few days ago, so I m not sure if that has something to do with it also. Help!

Some antibiotics can cause nausea but as you point out it might also be the remnants of the stomach bug.
Call your doctor's office and see what they suggest.

Yes. Augmentin is particularly known for stomach upset. And of course the respiratory infection itself causes it, due to the mucus. The main concern is that she kept in enough of the antibiotic for it to keep working. If the vomiting continues, call the doctor for advice on how to keep the meds in her.
