Why do people attack others based solely on the conservative/liberal dichotomy?

Outside the political realm, in real life aside from yahoo answers (haha), people can get along just fine. think about how many people you work with or live next to or are family members that have different political affiliations than you. Although this may cause divisions with some individuals, many can work and live around these people just fine as long as the topic of politics does not come up. I think people are divisive by nature and we have to fight against it in our own will if we desire

Cons do it from lack of intelligence. If I post anything here saying we can't have a Republican president because they always borrow MORE than the Democratic alternative, then some idiot con INEVITABLY says that Obama borrows more.

1. Mitt Romney EXPLICITLY promised to cut the deficits by cutting taxes and exploding spending. Reagan proved that instead, you triple the whole national debt that way.

2. I never said I supported Obama. What the hell difference does it make that Obama borrows too much too, when Romney EXPLICITLY promised to be worse?
