  • Why do people attack others based solely on the conservative/liberal dichotomy?

It would seem, especially from questions and answers on this website, that one would need no other information about another aside from which "side" they are on to determine whether or not they could maintain a healthy relationship with an individual. Why is this? From what I've experienced in real life, people are unable to put that dichotomy (is this a buzzword?) aside and just get along. It seems to very much be an "us against them" type of fight. Is there a psychological reason for this in-fighting?

  • What happens if I join the Army and this happens?

I AM joining the United States Army but my mother does not approve, and she does have a say now because I'm not 18 yet but that's not what this is about. If I join when I turn 18, this will be halfway through my senior year of high school, there is a small but extremely real chance my mother will pull me out of high school to keep me from getting my GED/diploma, effectively barring me from joining. At that point in time I will still be one of her dependents and thus she can do this. Will the army help me finish high school or will I be SOL if this happens?

Please only serious answers about my question, this is not about whether or not to make the choice, it's already been made.

  • What is the FSR2 program?

I know the army uses it to help you select a job at MEPS but could someone please go into greater detail with what its is? Or possibly a source where I could find out more about it? It doesn't really come up when I search on the army's website.

  • What if my mother will not sign release for MEPS?

I am currently 17 and am *attempting* to join the Army; however my mother will NOT sign the release for me to go to MEPS and take the ASVAB. Is there any way for me to circumvent this issue or do I have to bide my time until I am 18? Other info: My father will sign the release however he does not have full custody, does that make a difference or matter at all? My step-father also is supportive but has been told that he has no say even though he is my legal guardian as well as my biological parents.

Please only answers; if you respond with a question, you will be ignored.
