What if my mother will not sign release for MEPS?
I am currently 17 and am *attempting* to join the Army; however my mother will NOT sign the release for me to go to MEPS and take the ASVAB. Is there any way for me to circumvent this issue or do I have to bide my time until I am 18? Other info: My father will sign the release however he does not have full custody, does that make a difference or matter at all? My step-father also is supportive but has been told that he has no say even though he is my legal guardian as well as my biological parents.
Please only answers; if you respond with a question, you will be ignored.

I think you know the answer; either convince your mother or bide your time
You have less than a year to wait. I know it seems like forever but you are young, time goes slower
Look at this as an opportunity. Go to the bookstore or Amazon and buy an ASVAB preparation book, study your butt off, fix your weakness'. The higher you score the better your job
And of course get in shape
With all that time will fly. Thanks for joining

The only way you can join while still 17 without parental consent is if you get legally emancipated. Considering how long that may take in the courts, by the time you are close to being emancipated you may be 18 already.
Many states also consider you legally emancipated if you get married, but a lot of those states require parental consent for marriage too.

If your mother won't sign,, she won't sign. Without her signature, you can't join. Once you're 18, you can do what you like.

Wait till you are 18 if you have to. The first thing the Army will teach you is to follow orders no matter what.

You need both parental consent so you can't get around not having your mom's signature.
Just curious did she talk to your recruiter? My parents were against it but my recruiter played his charm and got their consent.

Your Father can sign.... But I am very sure your mother does not have to sign in order for you to test.
